It is with deep regret and a heavy heart that we announce that Mandlakazi (Mandla) Skefile, our Go.See.Do. Border Wild Coast regional franchisee, passed away in the morning of Good Friday. Mandla had a long and brave battle with cervical cancer and she remained resolute to the very end. She was an incredibly humble person, always eager to assist and mediate wherever possible.

Mandla was chair of the Mandela Bay Development Agency and was prominent in the development of the Bay Tourism Industry for several years, serving as the CEO of Nelson Mandela Bay Tourism. She was also a trustee of the Sustainable Seas Trust, a Non-Profit Organisation that supports and connects communities across Africa through research, education, enterprise development and growing awareness about ocean conservation and plastic pollution.
Mandla made an enormous contribution to the tourism industry and was passionate about inclusivity. Her input was freely given and was always underpinned by her calm and pragmatic demeanour. She was well respected for connecting people and for giving selflessly for the benefit of others.
We send our deepest condolences to her husband, Motse Mfuleni, her four children as well as the rest of her family and friends. God rest her soul, may she rest in peace.
Mandla’s official memorial service is scheduled for the 28th April and her funeral is scheduled for the 29th April. The process will be directed by the Jehovah’s Witnesses, of which Mandla was a devout member.
