Rooiduin Guest Farm is very close to the Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park. Stay in the guest house or campsite; or stop by for a dune surf!
Rooiduin Guest Farm is situated close to the Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park.
You can stay in the homely guest house or use the suitably equiped campsite, but it is not only an ideal overnight stop just outside the park…
The farm, managed by friendly hosts Naas and Alida Mouton, offers much more. Activities include:
• 4×4 Route,
• Sand-boarding,
• Hiking, and
• Bird-watching.
The old tree, still a prominent feature on the farm, was the meeting place for hunters for many years. In fact, when Alida saw that the hunters really enjoyed their stay on the farm during the annual hunting season, she and Naas decided to turn it into a year-round guest farm aimed at visitors to the region.
The red sand dunes are prominent on the farm, which is reflected in the guest farm’s name: “Rooiduin”, the Afrikaans for “red dune”.
You have not been experienced all the Kalahari has to offer if you have not felt the thrill of taking a dune board down the red sandy slope on the farm.
Stop over for a surf, or stay here the night before you enter the park. You will have no regrets and lots of good memories!
