The Cape Recife Lighthouse is a striking maritime beacon standing at the southern point of Algoa Bay, within the Cape Recife Nature Reserve just outside Gqeberha (Port Elizabeth), Eastern Cape. Built in 1851, the octagonal stone tower rises about 24 metres and is painted in bold black-and-white bands, serving as a warning signal to vessels navigating the dangerous offshore Thunderbolt Reef.
